Daycare Woo Hoos!

Well y'all may know about many of my daycare woes, like here and perhaps the one I unpublished about Daycare Diva. And of course there was the crack about me always feeding them Chicken Nuggets.

This week Boogs started a new Preschool based Center. We were obviously nervous. Why wouldn't we be when Diva always notified us that Boogs spent a lot of time in time outs-other parents always commented that when they saw him, he was in time out. And when I'd ask every day how he'd done, she'd answer "...better..." in a high pitch inflection that suggested that he was barely better.

So imagine our surprise and joy when they told us that he was great! They like him even. That was one of my big complaints about the other place, I just didn't think Diva liked him. They said he is really good, very lovey and wonderfully social. They think he's so cute because he runs up to greet each parent when they come. He's doing beautifully! I couldn't be happier.

And Kiki. Well he is in love with preschool. We got him into the one right downtown three days a week. I've been stressing though. I kept him at Diva's for another two days just having faith that preschool would suddenly have an opening for him full time. On the days he went to Diva's, he was NOT happy. He wanted to go to school. So on Friday, when no spots for full time had opened up, I talked to Boogs's school to see if they could take Kiki other two days a week. They said sure.

But, Friday morning while I stared zombie-like at my computer screen, the Preschool Teacher called me.

Me- Blah blah, this is Sassy.
Teacher- Hi Sassy, this is Preschool Teacher. I'm calling to make your weekend.
Me- Really?? (expectant pause)
Teacher- I'm calling you to offer Kiki a full time spot!
Me-Really!! OMG, I'm SO happy!! Thank you!!
Teacher-Actually I bumped a couple other kids off the list since I knew how desparate your situation is.
Me- You are SO getting a good Christmas gift this year!

Then I called Jim and Kiki. Jim was happy and Kiki screamed "OH!" and threw his arms up into the air (according to Daycare Dad). Today is Saturday and he wants to know why he's not going to school. He's kind of pissed at me.

So everyone is happy, I'm way less stressed and all is right with the world.

Oh, and because Kspin triggered some thoughts on the topic, I'll post something tomorrow. Of course her post is much better than mine, mine isn't all exciting. Just something I found very interesting.
What's that? You want to comment? Just click on the itty-bitty words below that say "Gimme Some Sugar". Can you see them? Good. We can't wait to chat with you.

That's great news! And that hat is so cute - such a sweet child. You know, I had a guinea pig called Kiki when I was a child. :-)

Thanks everyone!

Helena... Kiki is the name my son gave himself when he was about 18 months old and couldn't say his name. Its quite funny, I think it totally sounds like the name of a stripper. His real name is Kindred. Kiki is a good pet name, not so much for a little boy. lol!

So glad you've got happy kids (and parents - sooo important that one) with their schools.

OH, I SO KNOW what you were going through.

One of Noodles daycare providers didn't like her and constantly insinuated that she wasn't the sharpest crayon in the box. That woman was one miserable human being. We yanked Noodle out of there and sent her to a wonderful center where everyone loved her.

Good for you (and the boys)!
