The Drawback of Reading the Twilight Series

Is that now that I'm dreaming about Vampires based on this series, I don't know how to freaking kill them!  Its really frustrating, especially since I'm a human and I have hordes of vampires coming at me.  Vampires I can't stake, throw holy water on, flash with UV Rays or burn with garlic.

There is simply no way for a human me to kill them.  I guess I'm going to have to learn to turn into a werewolf or something.

I'm really enjoying these books, I'm blowing through them at a pace abnormal for me.  I was taking a shower last night and thinking, if I could, I'd read in the shower.  During the few minutes when I let the conditioner sit on my hair.

And now I have vampires on the brain, not in a scary way though.  But I couldn't help but wonder, when my car alarm mysteriously went off  two separate time in the middle of the night, and I walked out into the dark night in my PJ's to see what was up....was it just a ploy to lure me out there.  To test my defenses, or lack there of?

I didn't get jumped by a vamp or anything else that goes bump in the night, but I did find out that my neighbor wears bright blue tight underwear briefs to bed.  Lol!  I think he was sleepy enough not to be embarrassed.

So, go out and read these books.  I'm only on Eclipse, but I'm loving them all.  I'm even making Jim read them, against his will.  But I don't feel badly while I watch him chuckling and laughing out loud as he reads.  When I catch his eyes he tries to complain, but I can see he really is enjoying himself.

Happy Monday!

Oh, and because I was going to say something that was triggered by Kspin's Friday blog, its really nothing though.  I guess it fits since she is the one who finally made me decide to read these books, I'll throw this in too.

With school here, I was dreading making lunch for the boys every night.  Sister HB has complained how much she hates it, I already hate making my own lunch, add two more to it and I was sure it was going to suck.

But oddly, I enjoy it.  I actually find pleasure in putting their lunches together and watching their excited faces as they grab their lunch bag for school.  They feel so grown up now.

Sister HB assures me that I will grow to hate it, she liked it at first too.  But I'm hoping she's wrong, I don't need another chore added to my daily life.

Oh I loved that series! AND I watched HBO's True Blood last night...I thought it was a bit of a Twilight rip-off, but I still enjoyed it!

Cristan,

True Blood is actually based on the Charlaine Harris Southern Vampire series. They are a great read, think Stephanie PLumb with vampires or...Twilight with Sex. Take your pick lol.

I wish I could have seen it, I'll have to wait for it to come out on DVD or see if someone puts it on Youtube.

I need to get Stephanie's new book The Host. I'm addicted to her writing!

I still enjoy making lunches, but I only have one in school. We'll see how it goes! Maybe my kids will tell me to stop! lol! :)

Interesting that you dreamed about trying to kill vampires. I hope you weren't trying to kill Edward though!

Hmmm...Southern vampires that in books that are funny like Stephanie Plum (are they funny?) and have sex--might have to check those out. Even though I have never been into vampires until I read Twilight.

So glad you are enjoying the books! Don't feel alone in the vampire dreams. I had those when I was reading them too. It's hard not to when you read it just before going into dreamland. :0)

Oh, Sassy, dear, this may be our first major disagreement!!!

I *don't* get the attraction of Twilight. Should I read on? I'm guessing the others are more addicting (I've only read Twilight so far).

If you have a kiddo like C, the lunch thing isn't bad because he'll eat the same thing for a month or two and then switch. No variety for my boy...

Oh! Just saw your comment on TB... I'll see if I can record and send to you. I think they're re-showing the first one a few times. It's REALLY different than the books in a way, but the casting is perfect.

I'll e-mail. I KNOW we're in sync on that series, lol.

My thoughts are that most first books in a series are the weakest. A lot of charecter development occurs and not a huge amount of other stuff.

What I think I like is that they are so very readable and when I read I feel like I am Bella. I mean, especially with New Moon I guess and the theme of major depression and lost love and so many other themes that were SO DEAD ON for me that I'm making Jim read it so he can understand. She does a great job making you feel it.

I was talking to a friend that I wasn't sure would like them and she agreed, you really get inside her head and experience her depression and pain. Its part of why I had to read it so quickly so I wouldn't go to bed all yucky.

Try New Moon, if you don't like it after that then it might just not be the right series for you :)

Stephanie Plum with vampires....that sounds like my kind of book. As for Twilight, I think I might have to give these books a go, I'm hearing so much about them.

I started the series on my trip to MI, and I fell in love! I read all 4 books in 2 weeks, and I got my hubby hooked, too. He loved them as much as I did.

I agree when you say that you feel like Bella in the books. It was so surreal for me, because at 17 I was very much the Bella described in the books, and now I'm very much Bella at the end of Breaking Dawn. :)

So, the other night I was fighting a girl vampire with nothing but two screw drivers...one was the kind you fix glasses with!! But I had a plan...

I'm not scared by the books, nor my dreams, its more frustrating than anything.
