Je me souviens

I remember. That little saying is something that appears throughout Quebec, not sure why. I suppose I could find it out, but it doesn't matter because I'm not talking about Quebec, but remembering.

Today is Memorial Day, a day to remember. For the most part, to remember those who served. But this week I heard a story on NPR that I really enjoyed about remembering others in your life who have gone on.

A man was telling his story for Storycorp. I was going to detail the story here, but instead I'm just going to link to it. Its a great story, and gave a pretty deep meaning to Memorial Day, I thought. Especially for people who don't know anyone in the service. So go check out the link here

I've been lucky enough to not have lost anyone close to me yet, although I am pretty sure my luck is running out in regards to my father. He may be going off soon, and I am at peace with that. It will be sad, but he always loved a great adventure and I know he has a lot of things he wants to find out, learn and confirmed.

Who are you remembering today?

Now, some photos of our little picnic at Honey Bunch's House. We had a great time, I ate WAY TOO MANY POINTS worth. Can you say "no willpower" and Honey Bunch laughed so hard that it made her look scary. I have a picture, I can prove it. All in all, it was a really nice time.

Kiki and Logan making Smores

Logan pulling Boogs in the wagon, he did that for quite a while and was always patient when Boogs would jump out all willy nilly.

This is Logan growing muscles for all the hard labor he was doing pulling Boogs and getting firewood.

The Sassy Boys

Boogs and Logan chilly. Boogs wouldn't go anywhere without his ukulele

What's that? You want to comment? Just click on the itty-bitty words below that say "Gimme Some Sugar". Can you see them? Good. We can't wait to chat with you.

What a fun night! I love family get togethers. They are awesome. Especially because the wee ones get to create fun friendships with each other. :0)
