I Have Lost All Joy...

In Food. Which is ok, because I shouldn't find my joy in food. And I'm not being entirely honest. I do enjoy my food still and I do pick a day where I indulge and eat something I really really want to, so I don't feel deprived the rest of the week.

But more and more I'm looking at what I eat and thinking... I'd rather not waste my calories on this thing that I won't love. I'd just rather not eat at all. This has led me to eat a few bites of a sandwich and throw the rest of it away, saving my calories for some ice cream later. Lol!

Its not because I'm dieting and can only eat bland food, its not. Its just that I have been a very poor planner lately. I know what I like to eat and what I can eat and I make the mistake of being Big Dumb Lazy, and not getting stuff ready.

So, I plan to be a better planner, to make sure to get food I enjoy and to actually write down my points this week. And I'm going to continue to find joy in watching the kids play, Boog's new language explosion, the clouds in the sky, Kiki Splashing in the water, reading a great book and snuggling with my husband. Now that is joy!

Oh, and I did lose another pound! That makes me just a smidge away from 15. I think I'm getting the hang of this.

It does help to plan healthy meals/snacks that you enjoy, doesn't it? You're right that food shouldn't be your comfort, but you should be able to enjoy it!

Hang in there, it sounds like you're doing great.

That's the risk of dieting. Especially if you don't have time to cook healthy, tasty meals. Been there.

Hi, my name is Ashlee and I'm a foodaholic. :0) I LOVE food. It's good. But it's too bad I'm not like those "amazing" people that can eat whatever they want and still be twiggy. Not that I want to be twiggy though. Anyway...enough rambling....
I do the same thing with food. I usually save up all my calories for the end of the day so that I can splurge on something sweet. I love sweets. I just made some naughty death by caramel bars for dessert tonight. I think they are 100 million points on the Weight Watchers scale. :0)

I need to be a better planner as well. Great post!

Fifteen pounds is awesome! I agree we shouldn't find our joy in food. On the other hand, eating should be happy and pleasurable. Food is fuel, but I think there is more to than that.

Congrats on losing a pound, that's good going. Losing it slowly means you are more likely to keep it off. I wish I could lose interest in food!!

The other day I saw something that made me laugh since I'm working to take weight off, too. It said, "Of COURSE something tastes as good as thin feels. If it didn't, we'd all be thin". Yes, and amen.
