Let's Get Fit-8 Week Challenge

This afternoon I was minding my own business and proceeded to hurt myself. I was busy decorating Logan's bedroom thinking I was "all that" and failed to remember my girth. Which caused me to have a really stupid accident leaving me with some very painful gashes on my arm.

I was embarrassed. Tom was home and came running to see if I was OK. I scrambled up as quickly as I could so that he wouldn't see me looking like a big ol' fat turtle on it's back, but I was hurting pretty bad.

He bandaged me up hillbilly style (paper towel and duct tape-which did the job until we were able to go to the store) and went back to watching his news. I went into the guest room and cried like a baby.

I am just so angry that my lack of healthy habits caused me to get hurt. I've talked about how it also makes me a little inhibited at times. And ya'll, it's gotta stop. It's just plain stupid to let a bag of Doritos and 30 minutes of cardio stand between me and a full life.

When Sassy and I first started this blog I was in the midst of a 10 Week Challenge. I did OK the first few weeks, but then proceeded to peter out when I started getting stressed at work. I'm an emotional eater. That's right, I'll own it. But I'm also going to beat it.

Last week we talked about positive body image. I want a healthy body and I want to feel good. Many of you commented that you were desiring the same thing. We don't need to have a pretty bum like Kate Hudson (although it is indeed pretty), but we do need to be fit.

Let's do it together. I'm going to show my pictures and outline my goals for the week. You do the same. In the comments share your goals with us. Every Friday, I will post about how my week went and list my goals for the following week.

If you are going to blog about it yourself, we can link to each other every week so we can support and cheer each other on. If you're not going to write about it, or don't have a blog, continue to let us know how you're doing in the comments section.

Here I am. I'm using the same pictures from two months ago, because ain't nothing changed, unfortunately. Except mah hair. It's much cuter.

<--Say Buh-bye!

<-----See. Very cute hair.

Here are my Goals
WEEK ONE
1. Exercise 4 days.
2. Eat a healthy protein-rich breakfast.
3. Take my lunch to work every day.
4. Yummy salad for one meal each day.
5. Take my vitamins daily.

Leave your goals for the up-coming week in the comments section and I will add them to this post throughout the week end. By the time summer arrives we are going to feel fabulous in our own skin!

Ok, so I will run at least three times a week and I need to stop free basing chocolate! For Realz! No more. I will allow myself one sweet thing a day but really I should cut it out except for weekends.... so not sure.

But my number one is run 3 times (I did 3 last week, but sucked bad this week. Sister weekends always undo me for like an entire week afterwards)

I think this is an awesome goal to set for yourself! I haven't commented in a while, but I read you guys every day, and I just love your blog. I'm not on a weight loss mission (stress starver, which is just as bad), but I am about to go into training for the 60 mile 3 Day Breast Cancer walk, so I may add my training snippets here and there if that's okay!

Remember, you're doing this because you want to do it, and it will fulfill something within you. Keep it about you, and you'll do better. Forget the "other people" because they can't determine or judge what's best for you!

So I have so been wanting to do this, but was a chicken butt. I have been working on a post about weight and losing it and being held accountable by my blogging friends. I never had the nerve to actually do it. So I'm gonna do it now.

I will not eat a sausage biscuit this morning just to "take my medicine so I wont get sick". I will eat oatmeal.

I will do pilates three times a week.

I will stay out of the candy drawer at work.

I will make better choices when eating period.

Ok off to make oatmeal. Thank YOu SHB. :)

Ok...here we go...

I, Ashlee, am going to get FIERCE! Which means {dang it!} I'm going to have to start exercising and actually stick with it. Sigh. Don't I sound motivated?

And...less sugar. BUT, everything in moderation. We all read on my blog what happens when I try to deprive myself of sugar. :0)

Maybe I'll post on my blog about it. Not positive yet. That would mean I'd really have to do it. :0) People would be watching me!

Good for you! Wish I could join you. I will be giving birth sometime this month and so no dieting for me. - just avoiding sugar and eating healthy! But when baby is about 2 mos old I always do a no-grain, no-sugar thing for a couple weeks, just to keep my system balanced.

Oh - you are speaking to me. My post is along these lines, and I KNOW I must do something. I'm not entirely sure what, yet. I'll probably plan to walk a few times during the week, and put my excercise bike to work. I don't have a problem with sweets, but I may have to lay of the Funyuns.

Hmmm. Still have a lot to think about - The good thing is, we can help each other! I may need lots of encouragement...

You can have my sugar -- I'm trying to cut it out! and eat more raw foods and bicycle and run at least 3 times per week.

You're both doing so much better than me. I need to trim down by April 18th for a wedding, and I just ate my way through an Entenmann's cake. Can you say "lack of will power?"

This week I will try to cut down on my sweets and stop grazing throughout the day as much. I'm a HUGE snacker.

Since I am super lazy, I am going to do your weekly goals, mmmkay? I need to get into shape, too.

A friend of mine passed away a couple of days ago. He was just about my age (45). He left behind a wife and 3 very young children. It scared me. I don't want that to happen to my family because I refused to take better care of me.

Great goals. I am so there with you. I want to lose twenty more pounds and the only way is going to be one miserable pound at a time. I'll post next week on all the wonderful arm exercises I learned today at the Y.

My goals are to do those arm exercises 3 times this coming week, do cardio at least 4 times and watch carefully (very carefully) what I am eating.

Let's do it and get it done!! (PS. Your hair does look great, darlin'. I think I need another trim. Maybe that will take off a pound. haha)

My new approach to a healthy life is to stop weighing myself. I have not stepped on the scale in over two weeks! I measure my healthy successes (or not) by how I do each day; did I eat healthy foods and proper quantities? did I exercise? This morning I had to run through the airport to catch a plane, and I felt my stomach jiggling as I ran. Disgusting! But, I'm on the road to recovery. One day at a time.

I'll join in your goals by doing crunches 5 days a week, (I hate the crunches) and I add more veggies to my diet. I have a hard time incorporating those sometimes! I will also drink more water!...lots of water!

The hair is super cute btw! I heart short hair!
