Adventures in Bloggy Friendship

Awhile ago I met bloggy friend for the first time IRL. Here is the post I wrote worrying about if she would like me and what I should wear, just in case you forgot. I planned on writing about it right afterwards, but frankly I haven't put much effort into writing here and I wanted it to have my full attention and effort.

So I met...drum roll please, Jen of A2EatWrite, (the crowd cheers). I've always really liked Jen. For one thing I feel she and I share some similarities socially and politically. And she also always has something really insightful to share in my comments. She's a quality commenter, not a comment whore like I sometimes can be. And, she gave me the great idea of making Apple Cinnamon Pancakes, a Sassy Family favorite!

Jen was visiting in a town nearby and she suggested we meet. I was game, Sister HB had other commitments, but I'm not a shy girl so I jumped at the chance. We made plans and she sent me a head shot so I would recognize her. She called my office to declare she was in my parking lot and I tip toed out of work to go on a Bloggy Friendship Adventure!

I had been debating where to take her, since she is a foodie and I wanted her to have a great...whats a scientific word for taste? I guess its Gustation? So I wanted her to have a great gustating experience. I am doubtful gustating is a word. But oh well.

We decided to go to a new local tea bar that serves all organic vegetarian cuisine and locally grown/made tea. Its kind of my new favorite place. The atmosphere is laid back, warm colors splash the walls and there are little tables, couches and window seats to lounge on.

Jen got something orange to drink, while I went for something green. They were very pretty and tasted good.

I don't remember now what she had to eat, I have a feeling I pressured her into getting the Smoking Greens Sandwich. Imagine grilled whole grain bread, gooey melted smoked cheddar cheese, avocado, spinach, onion and sunflower seeds. Soooooo good!

But I forgot to get a picture.

I spent a good hour or more enjoying great conversation with her. We talked about blogging, about families, politics, religion and all sorts of stuff. I had such a good time talking to her that, afterwards, I found myself thinking about all the things I meant to ask, but forgot to. She was just as great IRL as she is in blogworld. Are you all horribly jealous! I would be! :)

I hope that she'll find her way back here some day and be able to go to the 2nd runner up restaurant with me. We can share the fresh warm pita chip platter with the homemade pico, homemade hummus and the melty Jarlsberg cheese. Jen, all you have to do is call!

Here we are before we left the Tea Bar. Aren't we cute? Perhaps I can make it down to her neck of the woods and buy her that Cheese Delight I talk about so she can gustate all the ingredients and tell me how to make it.

And there you have it. I give Jen 5 our of 5 stars for being a great Bloggy Buddy!

Who's next? :)
What's that? You want to comment? Just click on the itty-bitty words below that say "Gimme Some Sugar". Can you see them? Good. We can't wait to chat with you.

I would love for it to be me, but unfortunately my travels usually don't take me in your direction. :0(
So glad it was a nice time though!

Heck, Sassy, I would have been happy with lukewarm dishwater - it was just so great to meet you!

And at least you HAD a camera, whereas I'd left mine in my car, darn it. Loved your pics, though!

And yes, remember - we have lots of room, so please, please, pretty please make it down to A2? And I'll front for the Cheese Delight. ;-)

And for anyone lucky enough to meet Ms. Sassy - you'll have a great time. Guaranteed.

What fun! =)

And oh my goodness, you're totally making me hungry with all the mentions of that food. The runner up restaurant sounds so gooood.
